Centre cut
Various cutterbar designs are possible in the finger cutterbar sector. The centre cut and high cut versions are each designed for specific operating conditions. A free-cut version is also available. The finger bars of the centre cut version have a finger spacing of 50.8 mm. This cutterbar is used in professional agricultural applications. In conjunction with motorised mowers, ESM cutterbars of this cutting quality deliver excellent cutting results and a high level of operating comfort.
Specifications of the finger bar centre cut
The working width of the centre-cut finger bar is 1.32 to 1.92 m. This cutting width offers an excellent compromise between a flexible, slim design and a high harvest yield. The construction is designed for the special applications of a centre-cut cutterbar. ESM generally places very high demands on the quality of the mowers in its range: User-friendliness and maintenance characteristics must meet professional standards. The aspect of environmental protection and the protection of small creatures is also taken into account. The cutting unit of the centre-cut version is subject to special care and maintenance instructions, which can be found in the installation and operating instructions. The blade guide in the finger zone may need to be adjusted. A basic adjustment is required for the centre cut finger bar if the clearance between the guide plates and the friction plate has exceeded approx. 1 mm. The basic adjustment of the centre-cut finger bar must also be renewed after inserting a new cutter blade and after loosening the fastening screws. If there is play between the blade holder and guide plate in the blade guide of the centre-cut cutterbar, this can be eliminated by turning the adjusting screw.
Adjusting the blade guide in the centre cut version
The exact instructions for adjusting the knife guide of the centre cut version can be found in the assembly and user instructions for the finger beam cutter. Once the blade guide has been correctly adjusted, the guide plate should lie under the blade holder without play and touch it in the front third. When correctly adjusted, the inclined sliding surfaces of the friction plate and the guide plate are parallel to each other and have a clearance of 0.2 to 1.0 mm. Precise adjustment should be carried out with appropriate care, as this is a prerequisite for safe and effective work.
