ESM technology for portal mowers

The patented Carbodux® knife blades are characterised by a long service life compared to knives from other manufacturers and deliver a clean cutting pattern. Portal mowers are manufactured in different designs and mowing widths. The larger the working width of the mower, the heavier it generally is. Portal mowers with aluminium frames offer a weight advantage over other materials, especially in large mowing widths. The two most important factors with regard to the area performance of gantry mowers are the bar width and engine power of the drive units. Fuel consumption, handling and the quality of the cut material also depend on these factors. Practical tests have shown that fuel consumption per hectare is lower when straddle mowers with a large cutting width and powerful engine are selected. The mowing behaviour also changes when the width of the portal mower is increased. Wide gantry mowers generally offer improved adaptation to uneven ground and a correspondingly better cutting pattern.
