RAPID
Rapid Technic AG is a Swiss manufacturer of single-axle implement carriers, tractors and special vehicles. The company is based in Killwangen in the Swiss canton of Aargau.
The history of RAPID
The history of Rapid Technic AG begins in 1926, the year in which the economist Dr Karl Welter and the engineer Arnold Rutishauser founded "Rapid Motormäher AG". The aim of the two entrepreneurs is the commercial distribution of motorised mowers from serial production. The young company was quickly successful and expanded rapidly. In 1950, Rapid developed its first successful model, the single-axle tractor type "S". The Rapid Spezial was versatile and one of the first multifunctional agricultural machines. The success and long production period (1950-1978) of the "Spezial" undoubtedly helped to shape the mechanisation of Swiss agriculture. Between 1960 and 1980, a series of developments and market launches of lawn mowers, motorised mowers and mowing tractors followed, and the company continued to grow. This innovative spirit continued in the years that followed and continues to the present day. In 2009, for example, the Rapid REX, the world's lightest mountain mower capable of tackling slopes of up to 120°, was launched on the market. The highest quality of all components and the versatility of the equipment are the basis of all Rapid developments.
The RAPID product range
Rapid motorised mowers are used in alpine farming, municipal services and commercial agriculture. The product range includes single-axle machines with fixed and swivelling handlebars. The weight, motorisation and cutting width of the devices can be adapted to the respective areas of application and to the individual requirements of the customer. Rapid utilises the professional technology of Ennepetaler Schneid-und Mähtechnik when selecting the cutter bars. ESM double knives, municipal cutterbars and finger cutterbars ideally complement Rapid's drive machines. The wide range of ESM cutting units, the patented Carbodux® quality of the blades and the long service life of the ESM components make them ideal for professional use in gardening and landscaping, in municipalities, on steep slopes and for a variety of special applications.
