TerraTec Maschinenbau GmbH from Bings (Bludenz, Austria) was founded in 2013 by the current Managing Director Lukas Schrottenbaum and his partner. The company's first development was a hay pusher for haymaking on steep terrain. As the next production step, TerraTec set itself the task of designing its own motorised mower. Right from the start, the TerraTec team placed the highest demands on the design. The aim was to realise a mower that could be optimally operated and handled from the point of view of the experienced agricultural designers.
TerraTec Ibex
As the development and design of such a mower had already begun before the company was founded, the product - the Ibex 14 - was launched on the market in 2013, the year the company was founded. The Ibex motorised mower from TerraTec turned out to be a successful model and was continuously developed further. The next TerraTec product followed in 2014: the Ibex 28. Both mowers proved to be extremely versatile and powerful and were subsequently in high demand.
The continuous growth of the company meant that it was necessary to find a production facility suitable for the now established industrial operation. In October 2018, TerraTec was able to move into its new premises in Bings near Bludenz. In the same year, a further improved version of the mower was released under the name Ibex G2.
A mower for any terrain
The name Ibex is derived from the Latin word for ibex. For a motorised mower that has also been designed for use in the steepest alpine terrain, such a name says it all. Just as the ibex is constantly confronted with new challenges on its forays through the mountains, an alpine mower must also be able to cope with a wide variety of surfaces, slopes and other imponderables. When designing the Ibex, TerraTec's aim from the outset was to develop a mower that would enable mowing in the most difficult terrain with maximum safety and efficiency. Absolute mower reliability is guaranteed by the built-in ESM cutting unit technology in all mower models.
The adjustable axle of the Ibex can be flexibly adapted to different environments and attachments. The stepless one-handed operation makes it possible to control the mower completely with one hand and work stress-free. The hydraulics and engine are designed for optimum efficiency and performance. In addition to a technically sophisticated mower, the ability to attach variable implements and adapt the tyres to different surfaces are key factors when mowing and working in alpine farming. TerraTec offers a wide range of attachments and different tyres for the Ibex.
