Conventional flail systems are based on a design in which a cutter shaft rotating against the direction of travel with a large number of flail blades shreds the cuttings. The ESM VERTI-2-FLAIL system has a fundamentally different design and offers improved mowing behaviour with significantly lower energy consumption.
Special features of the ESM vertical flail technology
With ESM vertical flail technology, the oscillating flail blades are attached to a blade carrier that rotates horizontally above the mowing surface. The ESM VERTI-2-FLAIL system is patented and guarantees the best cutting results and a long service life. As the hardened blade carrier is only fitted with 2 blades at a time, blade replacement is extremely easy. The blades should be replaced if the mower's cutting performance decreases or if vibrations or unusual operating noises occur. In such a case, the condition of the blades must be checked in accordance with the specific safety regulations for the ESM VERTI-2-FLAIL system and they must be replaced if necessary. It should be noted that the vertical flail technology as developed by ESM does not permit regrinding of the blades. Worn, bent or damaged flail blades must be replaced immediately in pairs! Safe and efficient mowing with ESM vertical flail technology can only be guaranteed if these maintenance and safety instructions are followed.
Robust mowing behaviour of vertical flail technology
If the appropriate measures are observed, ESM vertical flail technology enables professional mowing even in demanding mowing situations. For example, vertical flail technology is capable of effortlessly handling mowing tasks such as those that arise in the extensive maintenance of green spaces. The robust vertical flail technology even cuts through stems up to 50 mm in diameter and mows through dense vegetation and bushes with ease. The impact of foreign objects is a fundamental problem when mowing. Mowing areas are sometimes interspersed with stones or other objects. The ESM VERTI-2-FLAIL system is robust and insensitive to such foreign objects. In combination with the high cutting performance, this makes it possible to carry out mowing work quickly and without interruption, even in difficult and demanding locations with dense vegetation and small trees. The integrated blade brake makes the ESM vertical flail technology safe and fulfils 100% of the applicable legal regulations and requirements in accordance with DIN 12733.
